Smart Workflow

Agentic AI for end to end process execution. Merges deterministic process modeling with dynamic, goal based orchestration controlled by adaptive AI decision-making, built on the LLM of your choice.
  • Agent Node as the brain of the workflow: takes instructions, goals, tools, guardrails and models as input, delivers structured, validated output
  • Use Ivy processes, Java classes, files (e.g. PDF) and web search as agent tools
  • Guardrails for prompt injection and PII detection, native to the workflow, no extra infrastructure
  • Governance on three pillars: Governance by Design, Guardrails, Monitoring & Traceability
  • Full monitoring at design time (tokens, model performance) and runtime (task/interaction drill down)
  • AI Governance Center and AI History Analyzer for deep insights and recommendations
  • Proven in real use cases: HR vacation request chatbot, construction procurement assistant

Web-based Editors

LTS 14 significantly expands the web-based editor architecture. More application modeling and configuration tasks are available.
Editors and tooling include:
  • Form Editor with reusable components, editable data tables, validation, and preview
  • Data Class Editor with relationship modeling and annotation validation
  • Database & SQL Editor with connection testing
  • REST Client Editor with OpenAPI generation
  • Web Service Client Editor with SOAP client generation
  • User & Role Editors
  • Persistence Editor and schema generation
  • Case Map editor and viewer

HTML Dialog Development

HTML Dialog development receives stronger IDE support, providing a shorter feedback loop between implementation, validation, and preview.
Key capabilities:
  • EL completion and validation
  • Attribute completion and validation
  • Quick fixes for CMS, data, and logic
  • Jump-to actions
  • Selective validation suppression
  • Integrated HTML Dialog preview
Demo screenshots:

Unified Validation

LTS 14 introduces a shared validation framework across development tooling and builds. Validation is no longer limited to individual editors but can be reused across workspace diagnostics and Maven-based builds.
Validation covers processes, forms, databases, XHTML, CMS, Case Maps, persistence, and pom.xml. Validators can also be configured or selectively suppressed.
This provides earlier and more consistent feedback during development and enables validation to become part of automated CI/CD quality checks.

Modernized Project Configuration

Project structure and configuration becomes more consistent, tooling-friendly, and easier for AI-assisted development tools to understand and work with.
Key format changes:
  • Roles: XML → YAML
  • Users: XML → YAML
  • Persistence: XML → YAML
  • JCase Maps: .icm → .m.json
  • JSON schemas with deterministic versioning, allowing AI models to understand the formats and to generate or modify the files
These changes simplify automated processing and validation of project resources and align configuration formats with the new web-based editors.

Application Versions

Application Versions introduce a new foundation for application-level versioning and lifecycle management. Reducing the complexity of project dependencies.
Key capabilities:
  • Application-level version model
  • Release-state handling
  • Engine Cockpit version visibility
  • Migration support for existing Engines
  • Zero-downtime deployment foundations
The new model provides a clearer relationship between an application, its deployed versions, its included projects, and their runtime states.

Deployment & Packaging

Deployment capabilities are aligned with the Application Version model and have been strengthened for more reliable application delivery.
Key improvements:
  • More reliable deployments
  • Version-pattern-based deployment targets
  • Improved Ivy Archive handling
  • Application ZIP import/export
  • Project archiver improvements
  • Engine-side unpacking and conversion workflows
Existing deployment scripts and CI/CD automation should be reviewed when migrating to LTS 14.

Java 25 & Jakarta EE 11

LTS 14 modernizes the underlying Java enterprise technology stack.
Technology updates include:
  • Java 25
  • Jakarta namespace (jakarta.*)
  • Java EE → Jakarta EE project conversion
  • CDI and @Named instead of @ManagedBean
  • Tomcat 11
  • MyFaces and PrimeFaces 15
  • Apache HttpClient 5, Jersey 4, Apache CXF 4.2 for REST and SOAP
  • broader third-party library updates
Project converters assist with Java EE to Jakarta EE references and migration from legacy managed bean patterns toward CDI as well as migrating to Primefaces 15.

Cloud & Managed Environments

LTS 14 continues to strengthen Axon Ivy for cloud, containerized, and managed environments. Additionally smaller alpine based docker images are provided.
A key addition is PAAS mode, which allows potentially risky Engine Cockpit capabilities to be hidden or disabled in managed environments. This provides better control over what administrators can access when the underlying infrastructure is managed by a platform provider.
Together with the Application Version model, deployment reliability improvements, and additional operational controls, this strengthens the foundation for hosted, clustered, and cloud-oriented Axon Ivy environments.

Security & Platform Hardening

LTS 14 includes security improvements that go beyond individual bug fixes and introduce additional platform-level controls.
Key areas include:
  • Annotation-based control of CSRF protection for selected resources
  • Configurable handling of X-Requested-By for Engine REST APIs
  • PAAS-specific Cockpit restrictions
  • Safer redirect handling
  • Upload hardening
  • XML parsing hardening
  • URL validation
  • Safer UI rendering defaults
  • Performance optimizations
These changes are particularly relevant for hosted, clustered, and externally integrated environments.

Internationalization

LTS 14 extends internationalization support across the platform, providing a stronger foundation for multilingual applications and platform interfaces.
Key improvements include:
  • More user-facing texts available for translation
  • Support for additional languages, including German and Japanese
  • More consistent internationalization across platform components
These improvements make Axon Ivy better suited for applications and teams operating across different languages and regions.

Tabler Icons & Visual Modernization

LTS 14 introduces Tabler Icons as the modern icon set across the platform, replacing deprecated Streamline and Font Awesome icons.
Key improvements include:
  • Tabler Icons integrated into the core platform
  • Updated icons across editors and selectors
  • Updated icons in project and file views
This provides a more consistent and modern visual language across development and administration interfaces.
